Fashionset - 60 years of the Annamode fashion house’s productions for on set
The exhibition is a tour through the female fashions of the Twentieth Century on the cinematographic set, told through the creations of one of Italy’s most important cinematic fashion houses, the Annamode Fashion House.
In the whole field of high Italian craftsmanship, the costumiers is distinguished, indeed unique, for having always worked simultaneously in the worlds of fashion and film: two worlds represented by the two sisters, Anna, who in 1946 began work in fashion and Teresa who encouraged her to become involved in film just as she was beginning her finest work. The exhibition displays the costumes worn by some of the most beautiful women in the history of cinema: Claudia Cardinale in Handsome Antonio, Sophia Loren in Italian Marriage, Liza Minnelli and Ingrid Bergman in Ninà (A Matter of Time), Maria Schell in White Nights, Charlotte Rampling in the Night Porter amongst many others, making a total of sixty original costumes. The exhibition is supported by the Office of Cultural Politics – Superintendency of Cultural Assets of the Municipality of Rome. It was realised in collaboration with the ANNAMODE costumiers and Roma Alta and planned and created by the DAAP (the association of applied arts), run by Maria di Napoli Rampolla and Clara Pamphili, which is involved in the cultural promotion of costumes for the performing arts as a moment of synthesis between art and craft. The initiative forms a part of the International Film Festival of Rome.
